Summer school at St Thomas More Catholic Secondary School ran for two weeks from Monday July 26th to Friday August 6th.

The Sixty-four year 6 students who enrolled were separated into 4 classes of 16, with SEN students predominantly placed in the same group so they could be shadowed by at least one teaching assistant.

The school day ran from 9am to 3.10pm and consisted of six 50-minute lessons, a twenty-minute morning break and a fifty-minute lunchbreak where free school meals were provided for those who were eligible.

The lessons delivered over the two-week period were English, Maths, Science, RE, Computing, Art, PE, Design Technology and Food Technology. Students received at least 3 lessons per week in each subject.

There were eight members of teaching staff present, including six Head of Departments. Three members of the SEN department were also present and this included the head of the SEN department.

Free School Meal students were offered a daily lunch.

Cleaners were available throughout the summer school to ensure that covid rules were in place to protect students and staff in attendance.
