Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is an important and necessary part of all students’ education. PSHE is taught on a Thursday morning and is delivered by the tutor teams. There are also three designated PSHE days across the academic year, where external speakers are often invited in to expand on the experience and delivery that the students receive. The PSHE sessions build on what is being taught across the school curriculum and within both statutory guidance and the teaching of the catholic faith. The PSHE education programme equips students with a sound understanding of risk and with the knowledge and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions.
Every tutor group will deliver an assembly to their peers based on one of the PSHE curriculum themes and will find ways of linking this to the bible and the catholic faith.
