GSO Test

Inspire, Create, Perform, Critique

At Key Stage 3 we focus on imagination, creativity and awareness. As well as learning a range of performance skills, students study dramatic plays, which allows students to learn empathy and self-control. Drama in KS3 will help provide opportunities to experiment with improvisation, storytelling, and script work and to apply a range of performance styles and genres.

At KS4 we use the AQA GCSE syllabus. During this course, students will learn a range of performance skills and also analyse topics and themes. Although practical work is at the core of the syllabus, students will also be required to use written skills to evaluate their own Drama work and that of others. Students will need to work well both independently and in groups and perform your work in front of an audience.

The Drama department offers extensive extra-curricular opportunities across Key Stages 3 and 4. Drama club and
Musical Theatre club runs throughout the academic year and culminates in a production at the end of the Summer Term.
